The great debate has now come to a close. But the participants have reached no agreement; the problem is still unsolved. Although Job has vindicated God’s trust in him, yet his mind is in turmoil. He is baffled still by God’s seeming silence; he is profoundly convinced still that God is unjust. And thus in order that Job’s faith might find its certainty, God speaks to him out of the whirlwind.
